P-C ends regular volleyball season at 8-10

Post-season starts Tuesday vs Adair-Casey

The Paton-Churdan volleyball team lost to Glidden-Ralston in Rolling Hills Activity Conference volleyball at West Harrison Saturday. Set scores were 25-15, 17-25, 13-15. “Although the girls didn’t earn the win they fought throughout the match and played at a high level,” coach Hannah Boehmer said.

Boehmer said the girls had a lot of energy and played aggressively in the first set. They lost consistency and confidence in the second set, but noted that the girls recovered well in the third set. The team served at 80.4 percent for the day. Megan Carey was lead server at 12 of 13 for 92.3 percent. Jenna Beyers and Grace Geisler both served at 83 percent. Beyers had 13 digs and four kills, Sydney Koch had 12 digs and 10 kills, and Carleigh Paup had 11 digs, and 10 assists.

The Saturday play ended the regular season for the Rockets with an 8-10 record. They begin post-season play in Class 1A Region 4 vs Adair-Casey at Adair Tuesday, Oct. 20, at 7 pm. The Rockets have played the A-C Bombers twice the season. The first was a 0-2 loss on Sept. 5 and the second was 0-3 loss on Sept. 17.
